Mallary Tenore reports on the media news industry and edits various columns for Poynter Online, including "Al's Morning Meeting," "Ask the Recruiter," "E-Media Tidbits" and "Diversity at Work," a diversity blog she started last year.
Prior to coming to Poynter in July 2007 for a year-long fellowship, Mallary received her B.A. in English and Spanish from Providence College in Rhode Island. While in college, she served as editor-in-chief of PC’s student newspaper, The Cowl.
She has written for The Boston Globe, The St. Petersburg Times, The Dallas Morning News, The Worcester Telegram & Gazette, The Lowell Sun, The MetroWest Daily News, Rhode Island Monthly magazine and Poynter Online.
Mallary likes: Exploring new places, speaking Spanish, meeting people, walking around cities, scavenger hunts, laughter that makes you cry, friends, family, surrogate parents, listening to people tell their stories, senior citizens and babies, origami, yard sales, reading/finding/collecting books, balconies, moments of silence, letting the world know she cares.
